Maddie 21.09.2011 – 25.11.2021……….Darling Maddie, how quickly our time together flew by. You came into our lives when we were still grieving the loss of your brother Solomon and you were so tiny and beautiful that we fell in love with you instantly. We knew nothing about Jack Russell Terriers before we met you….but we soon realised you were quite a little character and an energetic livewire to boot! You were a sneaky little stealer of socks (and hearts!), a lover of sleeping (in our beds of course), eating (our food as well as your own), sniffing through our shopping bags, meeting new people (especially kids) and being taken for a daily walk. You hated windy days, having a bath and most of all, thunderstorms. You were sweet, loving and affectionate with the most beautiful nature. You didn’t have a mean bone in your body and you bought us so much happiness we couldn’t believe how lucky we were to have you.
A friend said we’d given you a beautiful life….but it was you who made our life beautiful Maddie, and we’re grateful for the 10 happy years we had with you. The cancer that took you from us was something we never expected, but even worse it was something we couldn’t protect you from. It took you so quickly we’re still reeling from the shock. We’re thankful we were there with you until the end, to hold you and say goodbye – to tell you how much we loved you…at least we had that.
The house feels strange and empty without you now. It’s hard to accept that you’re gone and that our lives will never be the same again. We’ll miss your special cuddles and puppy kisses for as long as we live…rest in peace now sweet girl and say hello to Solly for us. We’ll all see each other again one day…..
